Knighton and District Refugee Support Group

Works to raise awareness about Refugee issues and promote empathy, humanity and inclusivity.

As well as being alongside refugees living locally and in Wales generally, we support charities and campaigns working in the UK and further afield.

We have an annual away day with guests from a Swansea support organisation. It provides a relaxing day out in Knighton with refreshments and activities in a rural area.  

During refugee week in mid June special activities are arranged around a National theme for each year.

Raises funds by holding Plant/Book stalls, Garden parties, Jumble Sales, Music events, Films & Auctions, involving local people in local venues.

Volunteers from the group are assisting Knighton Primary School which is working towards becoming a School of Sanctuary. 

Meetings are every other month from January at the Norton Centre in the back of the Baptist church, usually the last Monday of the month, at 7.00pm
